For this assignment, you need to a language that interests you enough that you'd like to write a report about. Do a brief search of the web and the library to be sure you have access to sufficient information about these languages that you could write a report. Everyone will be reporting on a different language so you need to have several options. You may choose languages that we are using in class or that are discussed in your text but keep in mind that there is likely to be a higher demand for those languages than for other less common ones. Also, you will be expected to go beyond what is in the text in your report.

To complete this assignment, you need to go to the sign-up page. The first time you go to this page, you need to register. Use your onyx login name as your login name for this system. A temporary password will be mailed to your onyx account. You will be required to change it the first time you log in.
Once you have registered, you can sign in to the system. Then select View Language List to see the languages that are available. You will be allowed to Choose any language that hasn't already been selected by someone else. If you want to report on a language that is not in the list, you can send me an email telling me what you want to report on and why you think it is suitable. I'll add it to the list with your name attached to it. The system does allow you to change your mind if you decide you don't like the language you selected.
