Feedback
If you have anything comments about the
class that don't get addressed by the on-line evaluation,
you can send me an email as one last homework. Some things that I'd like to
hear about are listed below. You don't have to answer everything.
- How do you feel about the text we used this semester?
- Did you ever use any of the books that were on reserve in the
library?
- Do you think doing the report was worthwhile?
- Would it have been better to spread the oral presentations
out through the semester instead of having them all at once?
- Did you like writing programs in several different unfamiliar
languages instead of concentrating on a single one (probably Scheme)?
- Was the interpreter worth doing? Do you have suggestions for improving
the way it was organized?
- How did you feel about the balance between written and programming
assigments?
- Would you have liked to be able to do some of the assignments in groups?
- Did you use any of the material on the web? Is there anything I could add
to the web pages to make them more helpful?
- Did you use any of the material from my handouts directory on
onyx? Did you even know it was there?
- Was there anything that wasn't covered that you wanted to learn about?
Anything that was covered that you don't think belonged in a programming
languages course?
- Did you feel like your previous courses had adequately prepared you for
this one? If there are specific areas where I assumed more knowledge than you
felt you had, what were they.
- Feel free to discuss anything else that comes to mind that you
think would make the class better in future semesters.
If you have any comments about the questions that are asked on the on-line
evaluation, please send those as well. Do the questions make sense to you? Do
they ask enough to allow you to properly evaluate the course and the
instructor.
