In Linux the procedure for obtaining an authorized
use of the system is called ``logging in''.
When you are on an workstation then you should have a login: prompt
on the screen. If the screen is blank, move the mouse
to obtain a login window.
If there is no response, then the monitor may be turned off.
In that case turn on the monitor.
Enter your user name at the login: prompt and then enter your
password at the password: prompt. Your password will not appear
on the screen when typed.
